Clay was a great guy. I remember many, many times playing tennis at Memorial Park with Clay & Chris Williams. We spent the summer of '73 doing practically nothing but playing tennis ...Up against a wall at Amarillo College when no court was available...anywhere we could. Clay was a master of the lob shot. Everything you hit at him, he'd return with a lob. Inevitably, I'd blow the return of the irritating lob. I don't think I ever won a single game against Clay when he imployed that strategy.

Here's Clay's 9th grade pic from Austin Jr. High.

Clay was a good friend, he was always coming up with ideas of what to do on a boring weekend. One Friday night we went to the K-Mart parking lot on Georgia Street. It had snowed about a foot and a half and the parking lot was covered in snow. We were in the Batmobile he wanted to hold on to the rear bumper of the car while I did donuts in the parking lot. He held on for quite awhile. We had a great time and thankfully no one got hurt. R.I.P. Clay

He was always very friendly to me.  He wrote in my last Jr High annual, can't wait for us to be Rebels.  See in you Rebel Land.
