Jim Brandt died unexpectedly at home on August 21, 2006.  Born May 5, 1957 in Corpus Christi, TX. Jim grew up in Amarillo, TX. He was the sixth of eleven children and filled the family home with sweet music.  After graduating from West Texas State University, he moved to the Austin area in the late 80's and loved his new adopted hometown.  The coast, fishing and camping were his great loves.  Jim knew his way around the kitchen and we all enjoyed his delightful cooking.  He continued to compose and play the piano.  He loved to write.  Jim worked for the Austin American Statesman for several years before becoming an auditor for the state of Texas.   Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
